Introduction

The application process to a new school may feel like a daunting experience to many, therefore, in Humanitree we strive to make this transition as easy as possible by following a specific set of policies and procedures.
Our goal is to admit the best possible students to Humanitree whilst maintaining our high standards of values, academic ability, behavior and family support.
Humanitree is committed to our mission, vision and values. As such, we expect all families to share in this commitment.
Our purpose is to ensure the admission of students is conducted in an effective manner; those responsible for each stage of the admissions process will deal honestly and efficiently with all admissions applicants.
The final responsibility for the admission of a student will lie with the Admissions Committee.
The first experience of the school for a student and family is very important, therefore the Admissions Office will ensure that:
Families are offered an opportunity to visit our school premises.
Information about the next steps of the admissions process is always shared with prospective families.
Families receive a timely letter via email communicating the conclusion of the evaluation.

Information and Procedures

Special Needs

Humanitree is able to support students with MILD to MODERATE learning, emotional, behavioral, neurological and psychiatric needs. Parents must fully disclose and provide all previous records, evaluations (psycho-educational, neurological, etc) and other information regarding past performance to Humanitree for review prior to admission. If information is withheld, it may jeopardize the continued enrollment process.

Admission Requirements and Criteria

Class placement is based on the student's educational background and their age on September 1st. In some cases, and only with the approval of the Admissions Committee, a student may be placed in a different grade. Students are not allowed to skip grades.

Pre Nest: 2-3 years old
Nest 1: 3-4 years old
Nest 2: 4-5 years old
Nest 3: 5-6 years old
Humanitree does not offer a Pre-First program. Those who are presently in a Pre-First grade must apply for Bloom 1.
Bloom 1 - 5, Hive 1 - 4 and Flight 1 - 3: Candidates must apply for the grade following the one they are currently in. Our academic year generally runs from late August to mid/late June. Candidates coming from a country with a different school calendar will continue in the grade they are currently in.

Before An Evaluation:

All candidates must present proof of passing grades. School reports will be assessed and if necessary, the actual school will be contacted.
All families must complete the application process in full and provide all official documentation requested by the stated deadline.
Candidates must fulfil medical and immunization requirements.
All candidates must provide a letter of good conduct from their previous school.
All candidates must complete the Humanitree admissions exam and school visit.
Every candidate taking part in the admissions' evaluation must pay an admission’s evaluation fee.

Students will be admitted based on the following criteria:

A successful evaluation result.
Siblings will have priority pending evaluation results.
Any student leaving school for a period of time will need to repeat the evaluation process for readmission and is not guaranteed a place.

Procedure

1. Families should complete the Admissions Registration online and upload all necessary documents. The links for online registration in both English and Spanish are available on the Student Admissions page of this site.

2. Families are contacted via email by an Admissions Office representative to confirm registration. Extra information on the possibilities of evaluation may be included in this email.

3. Parents/tutors are invited to attend a school presentation/small tour.

4. If an evaluation is organized for the candidate’s desired grade, families are asked to send the following required documentation for evaluation:

Last available School Report Card
Psycho educational or neurological report (only if the candidate already has one)

5. If the candidate fulfils the admission requirements and criteria, he/she is invited to a Humanitree admissions exam and school visit.

6. Candidates attend an on-campus evaluation. The evaluation takes place in a classroom environment and candidates take part in several age related, academic and social tasks guided by members of our Admissions Committee.

7. If a candidate is unable to attend the on-campus evaluation, an online evaluation will be organized with his/her current institution.

a. The family will be sent a consent form which will require the candidate’s tutors to print, sign and scan it back to us granting us permission to contact the child’s current instructors to set up the evaluation.
b. Once the child carries out the evaluation, and we have received the results, the admissions process will continue as normal.

8. Once the evaluation has taken place and a final decision is made by the committee, families will receive one of the following letters via email:

Acceptance Letter
If a child is accepted, the candidate’s parents/tutors will receive via email an Acceptance Letter. This letter will contain the next steps to follow including the deadline of payment and the list of documents required Admissions Department before the stated deadline. Families will have 15 days to make the payment and hand in all required documentation.

Completed Humanitree Medical History
Completed Humanitree Parent Questionnaire
A Doctor signed Medical certificate
Photo Release Form
Passport size photographs
Birth Certificate (original)
CURP (child and parents)
Copy of parents official ID
All previous School Reports and SEP boletas (schools in Mexico)
Recommendation letter from the previous school
“Carta de No Adeudo” from the previous school (schools in Mexico)

Or Wait List
If there are more successful candidates than available places, these candidates will be placed on a waitlist. If spaces open in the future, parents will receive the Acceptance Letter via email.

Or Non-acceptance letter
When a candidate has an unsuccessful evaluation, the child's parents/tutors will receive a non-acceptance letter. Humanitree is not obliged to provide any feedback on the results of the child's evaluation. If offered, parents may reapply for the following academic year once suggested accommodations have been made.

8. Once families have made the corresponding payments and documentation has been successfully submitted, they will receive the Official Welcome letter via email from the Academic Department. This letter officially welcomes families to our community and provides further information such as the Academic School Calendar for the following year.
